Which came first? Insane Clown Posse or Juggalos?

Did ICP coin the term "Juggalo"? Or did they just capitalize off it before anyone else?

Also: bonus points will be granted if you can remember the hand sign for juggalo.

Juggalos have a long and rich history, and can be observed in literature and art spanning the ages.

Little known fact: In Sophocles' Oedipus the King, the titular part was originally supposed to be played by a Juggalo. However, negotiations broke down when the Juggalo camp insisted that Oedipus kill his mother before he fucks her. Sophocles wasn't down with that, but kept the incest angle.

Juggalos are threaded throughout the rich artistic tapestry of our Western Culture, no doubt.

Insane Clown Posse came first, then the marketing company invented Juggalo's so that they could sell more stuff. Check out Frontline: The Merchants of Cool which is a documentary about that very thing.

You can watch it online here:

Is this the same Insane Clown Posse that was trying to disrupt comic/sciFi conventions around Columbus, Ohio about ten years ago? A couple of the dealers called the cops to get the white faced goons thrown out. Of course, that's what they wanted... free publicity and a reputation to spread the word about them.

    Is this the same group?
