What is a good art/drawing class for beginners

Wanting to get started in my lifelong dream of being an artist/painter, but have no idea as to where to start. Who offers, as in what school or individual, a good beginners course in drawing or painting?

Gage is more of a realist school, classical in the sense of accurate rendering of the human figure. Bones, muscles etc.

Take some intro classes to drawing and painting up at Pratt Fine Arts in the central dist. They are the perfect beginner friendly program w/ a variety of painting and drawing classes available including figure, still life, and more. They also have classes in jewelry, glass, sculpture, metals, printmaking, clay etc.

The Georgetown Arts Center offers figure drawing sessions
