Columbine vs. Ft. Hood Shooting?

Columbine. 12 dead, 21 injured.
Ft. Hood. 12 dead. 31 injured.

Both really sad & tragic, but am I the only one who thinks that because Ft. Hood is an Army base and not a high school that people will forget about it faster & there won't be a documentary made and a scholarship foundation started?

In my opinion, people are so used to hearing military & death side-by-side that they tune it out after a while, but they hear high school shooting and all of the sudden people have something to be worried about.
Do you see what I'm saying?

If I'm totally wrong please feel free to tell me so, but it's just the way I feel.

What about all the post-offices and Virgina tech? What about all the other high school shootings? Its not like there have only been two mass killings.

What is special about columbine is the conspiracy. They planned it well in advance and intended to blow up the school and kill everyone. It wasn't just some nut-job on a rampage. Plus, as a society we have long been deeply afraid of teenagers. Today's teen is tomorrows society.

Another thing that makes Columbine different is that everyone has to go to high school and essentially all parents have to send their kids there. Most people will never set foot on a military base, so they won't make a connection between this shooting and a danger to themselves and their loved ones.

I'm pretty sure people aren't going to quickly forget someone walking into a military base and killing 12 people while injuring dozens of others. If it were a post office, sure, it'd be forgotten since that's happened many times before. And yes, soliders get killed all the time in battle. But homeland army base rampages don't happen very often.

Columbine's just on another level entirely because it involved kids killing other kids in a planned rampage that effectively locked down the school.

ok. in my opinion remember, im just like you. if you had to serve your country you would be more scared to go over seas than spend time with your family correct? well at least thats the way most soliders feel. i mean think about it they spend countless hours training for the unexpected to happen over seas. the one thing they dont train for is what could happen on american soil. im sure that things will change now spite recent events. but columbine and ft hood are two completely different levels. columbine affected only youths and the ft hood incedent involved many american adults ive heard already many people say that the ft hood shooting is a conspiracy like landing on the moon. but to be honest how is someone going to make a conspiracy up about the government sure people have different political views but i believe the ft hood shooting was way worse than columbine but im no expert.
